Pillars of Eternity Gets A 10th Anniversary Update?
Someone Forgot To End Their Turn A Decade Ago
You will likely remember Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire more than the original Pillars of Eternity which came out a decade ago; assuming you played the second one instead of ignoring it because of the less than wonderful real time with pause combat of the first. Well, it might be worth revisiting as Obsidian just released a brand new update to their elderly game, which now includes proper turn based combat. They’ve done more than just make you and your enemies line up to wait a turn to fight, there are now free actions and other features you would expect from a game designed to be turn based from the beginning.
They do suggest it is different than the turn based combat in Deadfire, so it might be interesting to see how much you remember from a game released in 2015. If you don’t think you have it you can grab it everywhere, including GoG, just make sure to check your various libraries first!
