With SSD prices spiking for the past 9 months or so due to industry-wide shortages (the same kind that have been affecting DDR5 RAM prices), the market hasn’t been very friendly for those looking to upgrade their storage. But right now, just as Prime Day kicks off, you can grab the Samsung 9100 PRO 4TB SSD for a whopping 41% off, dropping way down from $1,359.99.

It’s available for $799.99 at Amazon, which is a solid price given today’s market conditions – but we’ve found an even better offer at B&H. Thanks to an exclusive discount, you can pick up one of these fast NVMe storage drives for just under $460. That drags it all the way down close to pre-price hike levels, and is certainly not an offer you’ll want to miss out on.

B&H has an even better deal for a (much more) limited time

You don’t have long to grab this Samsung 4TB 9100 PRO SSD at B&H for an amazing discount price. It has also been slashed to $799.99 at the popular US retailer, but for the next 12 hours (from the time of writing), you can get it for just $459.99 when an exclusive $340 coupon is applied. This is applied at the checkout and is part of B&H’s limited-time ‘Deal Zone’ offers.

Prime Day deals

Prime Day is officially here, and we’ve found all the best deals on tech and gaming.

Prices correct as of June 23rd on Amazon.com.

In comparison, Amazon’s Prime Day deals are scheduled to last between June 23 and June 26, though we tend to see many discounts spill over into the following days. We cannot say for sure whether the 9100 PRO will be part of those. Either way, from $799.99 to $459.99 is a massive price drop, and you really don’t have long to claim it. No wonder it’s currently a Top Seller.

Who should get this Samsung SSD?

The Samsung 9100 PRO is positioned as one of the best SSDs for gaming, so if you’re looking for a high-end option that provides both ample storage space and incredible performance, then this is a go-to option. It’s up there with the likes of the WD_BLACK SN8100 and Kingston FURY Renegade G5, both of which we’ve tested and reviewed.

Samsung’s speedy PRO model is a PCIe 5.0 M.2 internal drive that offers up to 14,800MB/s sequential read speeds and up to 13,400 MB/s sequential write speeds. Samsung says its 5nm controller “boosts power efficiency up to 49%” compared to the previous-gen 990 PRO, all the while promising that temps keep low. 4TB of storage is plenty enough for most gamers, too.
