Supporting students with connected AI tools for more personalized learning

Millions of people use Google AI tools to learn new things, both in and out of the classroom. As our AI tools evolve alongside the institutions we serve, here’s a look at new features in Gemini and Google Classroom designed to support students.

A more effective way to study and learn in Gemini

In the Gemini app, we’re rolling out study notebooks, a dedicated space that turns Gemini into an interactive, adaptive learning platform with personalized lessons for every student based on their learning goal, whether that’s getting ready for a big test or just getting smart on a topic.

Here’s how it works: Students type a prompt or upload class materials and take a diagnostic quiz that identifies the areas they should focus on. From there, Gemini builds a plan of bite-sized, interactive lessons to help them deepen their understanding. As students track their progress with quizzes, their lessons automatically update based on their results and any new material they upload, providing a learning experience that is personalized to them.

Study notebooks also sync with NotebookLM so students can seamlessly continue learning there, ask questions about their course materials, and create flashcards, infographics and more. Study notebooks are rolling out now to personal accounts globally and will be available in school-issued accounts in the coming weeks.

Students who’ve tested study notebooks praised it for helping them identify knowledge gaps, engage in active recall, and ultimately make their test preparation more effective and successful. Read some helpful tips on how to learn with study notebooks.
