Plug-in autonomous AI assistant Violoop is now available on Kickstarter with $399 pre-launch price
Following its unveiling at IFA Berlin 2026 just a couple of weeks ago, BVIO Technology is now ready to launch its physical autonomous AI assistant, Violoop. It’s available today (September 15) on Kickstarter, at 12 PM EDT / 9 AM PDT. In other words, by the time you’re reading this, the AI hardware will be ready to back on the platform. Pre-launch pricing starts at $369.
The device simply connects to your system via HDMI and USB Type-C and possesses the ability to read your screen and act on the information it is given, with screen data and other personal memory stored on-device as a privacy measure. BVIO advertises it as a “plug-in AI for your computer,” which essentially gives you a second user to work for you, even when you’re away from your machine.

The Kickstarter campaign follows Violoop’s debut at IFA 2026, where the compact device drew attention from technology media for its hardware-first approach to agentic AI and its ability to extend the usefulness of existing computers. Kickstarter backers can reserve Violoop from US$399, saving US$300 from the expected retail price of US$699, with shipping beginning in October 2026.
Unlike software-based agentic solutions that live inside individual apps or browser sessions, Violoop is dedicated hardware that connects directly to a computer through HDMI and USB. Seen in action here, it acts as a second AI user across the whole computing environment, interpreting activity already underway on the screen, understanding the tools in use and acting toward the intended outcome without requiring users to repeatedly provide prompts or move context by hand.

A Second AI User. Working Across Your Entire Computer.
Violoop gives AI the ability to use a computer much as a person does. It can see what is happening on screen, understand the task, open and navigate software, type, click, enter information and move work from one application to another – effectively acting as a second user, but with the speed and intelligence of AI.
Instead of asking a chatbot for an answer and then manually moving that answer into another application, users can give Violoop an objective and let it carry the work forward across browsers, documents, spreadsheets, email, creative tools, development environments, internal systems and legacy software.
An incoming customer email, for example, could trigger an entire workflow. Violoop could read the request, retrieve account information, update the CRM, use the most appropriate AI model to draft a response and place the finished reply back into the email application for review – turning what would normally require multiple tools, prompts and manual handoffs into one connected task.
Because Violoop can operate the computer directly, it is not limited to software built specifically for AI. Where an API or script is available, it can use it; where no integration exists, it can simply read the screen and operate the keyboard and mouse much as a user would.
Users can also bring their own API keys and connect Violoop to services including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Codex and other specialist models. Its routing system handles routine work locally, directs specialist tasks to the appropriate model and calls cloud services only when needed, helping reduce unnecessary token use and cost.
Behind this is BVIO’s vertically integrated platform, combining proprietary models, agent software, trust and accountability infrastructure and dedicated hardware. The system has been trained across more than 200 applications and 10,000 real-world software screens spanning research, writing, coding, design, CRM and back-office administration.

Violoop doesn’t stop working when the user leaves their desk. In Away Mode, it can continue approved tasks while the user stays in control from their phone – giving “remote working” a new meaning: rather than remotely operating the computer yourself, AI is working on it for you while you supervise from anywhere.
If an action requires authorization, Violoop pauses and sends a request to the mobile app, where the user can approve or reject it before work continues.
This is supported by a local-first privacy architecture. Screen data is processed on-device using an 8-billion-parameter local model and 26 TOPS of AI acceleration, while the screen, visual context and personal memory are never streamed to the cloud. When an external model is required, only the information necessary for that specific task is sent.
A dedicated STM32H563 security processor and physical approval control also separate intelligence from authorization, allowing Violoop to continue approved work while preserving privacy and ultimate human control.
