If you’re a professional creative, like me, you’ll know how important a good, accurate monitor is when it comes to editing, graphic design, and more. The ASUS ProArt line is where you want to be if you’re looking for something that ticks all these boxes, and it just so happens that one of the more affordable models is going for a decent price right now.

The 27-inch QHD model is down 21% from its list price and is coming in at just $236.55. This is a very good option for those of you who need something with excellent color accuracy, some handy USB-C connectivity, and decent resolution without breaking the bank. It’s also at one of its best prices of the year so far, only a few dollars shy of its all-time-lowest on Amazon.

ASUS ProArt Display 27″ Monitor PA278CV

WQHD (2560 x 1440), IPS, 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709, ΔE < 2, Calman Verified, USB Hub, USB-C, DisplayPort Daisy-chaining, HDMI, Eye Care, Height Adjustable

Why we like about the ASUS ProArt PA278CV

So, for the price, this monitor has a lot going for it. For one, it’s got great color accuracy and is quite bright too for a monitor in this price range. That’s good for both color and viewing in well-lit rooms. It features USB-C connectivity with 65W power delivery. That means you can connect your laptop to this monitor and do away with a lot of the clutter.

Speaking of clutter, the small foot base also keeps your desktop space free. A must-have for creatives who switch between digital and physical work in the same space.

On top of this, QHD resolution at this size looks pretty good thanks to how pixel density works. It’s actually the sweet spot for many when it comes to displays, especially if you’re trying to keep costs down.

  • Ideal size for QHD: 27 inches is the best size for 1440p, and preserves picture quality very well.
  • ΔE < 2 color accuracy: This is essential if you’re creating work for print, or just in general, to avoid pesky edits.
  • Surprisingly bright: Has 350 nits of brightness, which is good for this price range. 400 is even better, but comes with a hefty price tag in my experience.
  • Stunning design: If you’re a creative, let’s face it, these things matter. It’s a great-looking monitor with clean lines and super-thin bezels.
  • Decent refresh rate: It’s 75Hz and has adaptive sync, too. That means it’s not bad for a bit of light gaming and should be good for high fps video also.

Who’s this deal for?

In short, this is going to be great for creatives who are ‘on their way’ in terms of their professional journey, and need something capable for their setups without spending too much cash. As you can see from the graph above, it’s a great time to buy, but it has been slightly lower. Not by enough for me to hold off, personally.

If you’re looking for a hybrid gaming and design monitor, I’d lean towards some of the OLED QHD options instead. These can be found for around $450 or above in many cases, and will have much higher refresh rates and lower response times. They’re a good choice if you want an all-in-one solution and don’t mind increasing your budget. Take a look at some of the current gaming monitor deals below if this sounds like it may appeal!
