LG G6 OLED TV release date window, confirmed specs, and estimated price
Not to be confused with LG’s 2017 smartphone, the LG G6 is one of the brand’s latest premium OLED TVs, which was announced at CES 2026 in early January. As always, the G-Series model is a step above the new LG C6, and there are some notable improvements to talk about, as LG introduces its new Hyper Radiant Color Tech with yet more brightness boosts.
LG showcased the G6 along with the C6 and new ‘Wallpaper’ W6 at CES 2026, with upgraded RGB Tandem OLED panels. The G6 moves up to the second-generation panel, using a stacked 4-layer design to drastically improve brightness. LG says it also offers improved efficiency and lifespan. With CES 2026 now over, here’s everything we know so far about the release date, price, and specs.
LG G6 OLED TV release date window
Despite no word of an exact release date from LG just yet, we can relatively safely predict when the LG G6 will be available to purchase. LG has a history of launching its new TVs in March or April, and we don’t expect this year to be any different. Looking back to last year’s G5 release date, pre-orders went live towards the end of March, and the TVs were shipped in the first week of April. As such, we predict the LG G5 OLED will be available in late March or early April.
Last year, pre-orders were available directly through the LG store, with the company also running a number of promotions – soundbar bundles remain a popular choice. In the run-up to launch, LG has already knocked down the price of the 2025 models, including the 77-inch G5, which is now $1,000 cheaper and comes with free wall mounting setup and a free TV stand.
LG G6 OLED TV specs
Although the W6 was much of LG’s focus at CES 2026, the LG G6 was also on display, specifically the 83″ model that comes with the 2nd-gen RGB Tandem OLED Panel. Like the G5 before it, the new 2026 model will be available in panel sizes ranging from 48 inches to 97 inches, though there have been a few improvements worth talking about.

LG claims the new G6 OLED offers up to 20% higher brightness than the last-gen G5. We reviewed & tested the LG G5 OLED TV, with the highest brightness recorded at 2,519.7 cd/m² (nits) for 10% size window in the HDR Filmmaker mode. The peak brightness of the G6 is claimed to be up to 3,000 nits, and the math roughly checks out as far as the 20% increase goes. However, we’ll have to wait for hands-on testing to figure out the exact results.
One key feature is Hyper Radiant Color Tech, which is new to LG’s 2026 OLEDs. It also features in the cheaper C6, albeit only the two biggest models, while the G6 gets this new tech across 55″ to 83″ sizes. Hyper Radiant Color Tech is yet another aspect of brightness boosting, which LG claims offers “incomparable brightness, perfect black, and perfect color in any light,” helping push up to 3.9x higher brightness, compared to traditional OLED panels like the one in the budget-friendly B6.
The new W6 and G6 televisions with Hyper Radiant Color Tech also benefit from ‘Reflection Free Premium’ to further improve usability in well-lit environments.
LG G6 OLED TV price estimate & size list
As we mentioned, the LG G6 will be available in the same sizes as last year’s G5, 48″ through 97″, though the smallest and largest panels miss out on 2nd-gen RGB Tandem OLED with support for Hyper Radiant Color Tech. As for the prices, it’s still unknown how much they will cost. For reference, we can look back at how much the G5 series cost at launch in USD:
- LG G5 48″ – $2,099 (estimate)
- LG G5 55″ – $2,499
- LG G5 65″ – $3,399
- LG G5 77″ – $4,499
- LG G5 83″ – $6,499
- LG G5 97″ – $24,999
We don’t expect there to be much change, if any, with the LG G6 series price tags. The G-series remains LG’s premium range of OLED TVs, despite the introduction of the W6, so don’t expect them to get cheaper. Last year, the 48-inch model was the only one not available for pre-order in the United States alongside the other models, due to a focus on the UK/EU market, hence the estimated price – it’s not yet known if the same will apply this year.
Does the LG G6 OLED TV have Hyper Radiant Color Tech?
Yes, the LG G6 OLED TV does have Hyper Radiant Color Tech, but not for every size. The smallest 48″ and largest 97″ models will not be receiving the upgrade, which promises to offer up to a 20% brightness improvement over the last-gen G-series televisions. Compared to a traditional WOLED panel, LG claims the Hyper Radiant Color Tech boosts brightness by 3.9x.
It’s not immediately obvious why the 48″ and 97″ models haven’t been upgraded; if we were to speculate, the 2nd-gen RGB Tandem OLED panels are not produced in these sizes, leaving those particular models with 1st-gen Tandem, though this hasn’t been confirmed.
Is it worth upgrading to the LG G6 OLED TV?
We’d say that this entirely depends on what you’re upgrading from. The G6 OLED will be one of LG’s brightest OLED TVs to date, so if you’re looking for a premium display for a cinematic experience, the G6 is well worth considering. However, if you already have something like a G5 at home, or something comparable from a rival brand, it makes the upgrade much less worth it.
The introduction of Hyper Radiant Color Tech is a big selling point, and you’ll have to gauge whether the 20% brightness boost with Reflection Free Premium is worth it for you or not. It will certainly be one of the best TVs for gaming in 2026, as well as for any other media you consume on it.
