This Alienware dual-resolution gaming monitor is currently at its 30-day low price on Amazon, coming in at just under $400, making it a great opportunity to grab something super versatile, stylish, and with excellent gaming performance.

What you’ve got here is a monitor that’s capable of switching between 4K at 180Hz and FHD at 360Hz. Why is that great? Well, it’s essentially two monitors in one: a 4K display for slower-paced, more cinematic gaming, and a speedy FHD display for competitive play and esports. In terms of picture quality, you’ve got an IPS display, not a higher-end QD-OLED. That means not quite as an impressive contrast ratio, but this monitor has earned a VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, which means it’s bright, with good color(95% DCI P3 with Delta E<2 accuracy), and decent contrast (1000:1 in this case).

Alienware 27 4K Dual-Resolution Gaming Monitor – AW2725QF

One of the big things about Alienware monitors is their signature design aesthetic, which is worth paying a bit more for in my view. This monitor may be under $400, but it looks super premium thanks to its thin bezels, lighting accents, and stylish, functional stand. It’s the type of monitor that will elevate any setup, and pair very nicely with other Alienware products, from keyboards to complete gaming PCs.

Who should buy this gaming monitor?

So this is actually a more budget-friendly dual-mode gaming monitor, as it’s not OLED, and its refresh rate at 4K isn’t 240Hz, which is often the case with some of the top-end models. That makes it much better for those who want to keep costs down, and may have a rig that’s capable of 4K gaming, but not at RTX 5080 levels, for example. I’d say this monitor would pair well with GPUs like an RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti, which have 4K capabilities, but are very capable of high refresh rates at FHD at high settings.

Things to consider

At just under $400, you can actually get a solid QHD, 240Hz, QD-OLED gaming monitor if you look around. MSI has always been a good way to go, in my experience, and these would give you a good mid-ground, but you’d lose some of the versatility. The big thing to consider here is your split between FHD and 4K gaming. If it’s literally 50:50, dual-resolution monitors like these are a game-changer and can even save you a bit of cash.
