Apple TV comedy with 96% Rotten Tomatoes is coming back soon

Apple TV announced Ted Lasso’s season 4 release date yesterday, and now today the streamer revealed that it has another beloved, critically acclaimed comedy coming back for a new season too: Trying.

Trying season 5 arrives July 8 on Apple TV

Trying and Ted Lasso both premiered in 2020, bringing much-needed comfort TV in a challenging year.

Now Apple has both shows returning for new seasons this summer to bring more good vibes and laughter.

Trying season 5 premieres Wednesday, July 8 with one episode, followed by weekly releases through August 26.

The series follows London-based couple Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) on their journey of infertility, foster care, and adoption.

If you’ve never seen Trying, but enjoy heartfelt comedies like Shrinking and Ted Lasso, I highly recommend checking out the series. The show’s impressive 96% Rotten Tomatoes score is a testament to its success over four seasons.

The new season has the following plot line, per Apple:

Season five finds Nikki (Smith) and Jason (Spall) dealing with the consequences of Princess (Scarlett Rayner) and Tyler’s (Cooper Turner) biological mother Kat (Charlotte Riley) turning up at their doorstep, and the whirlwind of chaos she brings into their settled family life.
