Don’t Tell Anyone But Windows 10 Will Get Another Year Of Updates

Rare Good News On A Friday For ~25% Of Us

If you are looking for the regularly scheduled horrific news you can find it below the fold, with Micron announcing that their memory pricing will remain sky high until at least 2030 and Apple jacking up the prices on a variety of products because Micron ain’t the only memory maker planning on keeping prices inflated.  Instead Microsoft very quietly added a year to their Extended Security Updates for Windows 10.

There was no real announcement, you had to have noticed a Microsoft blog post or hang out on the ESU page to notice and thankfully some people do exactly that. This lead to Ars Technica spilling the beans about another year of Windows 10 updates, which means another year of ignoring Windows 11 for many people.  You won’t even need to do anything as long as you already signed up for the Windows 10 ESU.  If you haven’t done so, Ars lists the three ways to get them.
