LG showcases its new C6 and G6 OLED TVs at CES 2026, both with upgraded Tandem panels
LG has officially showcased its 2026 OLED TV lineup at CES 2026, including its new C6 and G6 series televisions. While there are no major changes like HDMI 2.2 or Dolby Vision 2, LG is clearly focusing on panel upgrades, especially with its latest Tandem OLED technology. The biggest improvements this year are tied to brightness, color performance, and overall picture quality, representing a jump in performance compared to the LG C5 and LG G5 OLEDs.
As expected, LG is once again keeping its best OLED panel exclusive to the G-series. The new LG G6 uses a second-generation 4-layer Tandem WOLED panel, now branded with Hyper Radiant Color Technology. According to LG, this panel delivers up to 20% higher peak brightness than last year’s G5 and up to 3.9 times higher brightness than the B6, measured in a 10% window. While LG has not confirmed exact numbers yet, the G6 could exceed 3,000 nits of peak brightness.

LG has also worked on reflections. The G6 models in 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches use a new screen structure and coating that reportedly cuts reflections by about 50%. This is aimed at maintaining deep black levels even in bright rooms. The 48-inch G6, however, does not get this treatment.
The C6 series also sees an important change, but only for specific models. LG did not highlight this during its main CES briefing, but it has been confirmed that C6H models in 77 and 83 inches will receive an upgraded 4-layer RGB Tandem OLED panel with Hyper Radiant technology. This is not the same tuning as the G6, but LG says it delivers around three times the brightness of the B6, making it closer to last year’s G5.

Not all C6 models benefit from this upgrade. LG is releasing three C6 variants, and only the C6H gets the new panel. The standard C6 and CS6 will continue using older panel technology. LG is also introducing a more affordable B6 series, which does not include the Tandem panel either.

Both G6 and C6H are powered by the new Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor. LG claims large performance gains on paper, including a faster CPU, GPU, and a much stronger NPU. This enables features like 4K120 game streaming via Nvidia GeForce Now, which will debut first on 2026 LG OLED TVs, without the need for an additional device. Bluetooth Ultra Low Latency is also finally arriving, reducing controller latency to around 1ms.
Despite the added power, LG has decided to stick with HDMI 2.1 and standard Dolby Vision; it’s worth noting that HDMI 2.2 is being showcased at CES 2026. Gaming features remain strong, with support for 4K 120Hz on consoles, 4K 165Hz on PC, VRR, Nvidia G-Sync, and AMD FreeSync. LG is also introducing Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, allowing compatible wireless speakers to connect directly to the TV without cables. However, DTS audio and IMAX Enhanced are still not supported.
On the software side, webOS 26 promises a faster and smoother experience. It adds AI-generated art via Google Gemini, built-in Microsoft Copilot, and expanded smart home support.
LG also announced its new W6 model, a return to its ‘Wallpaper’ TV series, which has been on a four-year hiatus. The new W6 OLED uses “true wireless transmission technology” to provide a seamless experience on an ultra-thin display, which measures just 9mm thick. LG’s 2026 OLED TVs are set to launch this spring, with pricing to be announced later.
