Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls open beta start time, countdown clock, and list of playable characters
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is almost here, and before the full game arrives next month (on August 6), Sony and Arc System Works are giving everyone a chance to jump into the action through a free open beta, starting soon on July 24. Those in the US Pacific time zone will get access at midnight; if you want to see how that translates to your region, we’ve explained it all below.
Unlike the earlier playtests that were limited to select players, this beta will be available to everyone on supported platforms and includes a large portion of the game’s content. PlayStation, which publishes the game, was also due to release its FlexStrike wireless fight stick on the same day as the full game’s launch, but that has since been delayed.
Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls open beta start time
According to Arc System Works, the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls open beta will kick off on Friday, July 24, at 7 AM UTC, and will remain live for 72 hours before ending on Sunday, July 26. Players can also pre-download the beta two hours before it goes live, allowing them to jump in as soon as the servers open.

The open beta launch is happening simultaneously worldwide, so to help you out, we’ve put together a list of start times for different regions below. Our countdown clock down below is also counting down to the exact time it opens – keep in mind that the timer will disappear once it expires.

What’s included in the open beta? Which characters can you play?
The beta will be available on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, with full cross-platform play supported. Since it’s an open beta, there’s no registration process or invite required. In other words, simply download it from your preferred platform once it becomes available.
You’ll be able to play 16 of the 20 launch characters, which are as follows (in their associated lore-based teams; gameplay is reportedly not affected if you choose to mix-and-match them):

Samurai Outriders
The remaining four fighters will remain unavailable until the full release. These are: Hulk (Fighting Avengers), Carnage (Knights of Doom), Loki (Samurai Outriders), and Deadpool (Samurai Outriders). Post-launch Year 1 DLC characters have also started to be announced, starting with Phoenix Cyclops.
There will also be six playable stages, including Marvel’s New York with both day and night versions, Savage Land, Wakanda, Knowhere, and X-Mansion. Several game modes will be available during the beta, including Casual Match, Ranked Match, Local Versus, Open Lobby, Training Mode, and tutorial content through Start Up Battle.
Players will also get an early look at Episode Mode, the game’s comic-style story campaign. The beta includes the first three chapters of the Amazing Guardians storyline, where Spider-Man gathers a team of heroes to deal with a new threat. The story preview will feature full voice and text localization across multiple languages, giving players a good idea of what to expect from the full campaign.
