Microsoft Teams Will Soon Let You Customize Enter Key Behavior & Forward Multiple Messages
In the past few months, Microsoft has quite actively added new features to Teams, and it seems the company will keep up with that trend next year, too. That’s according to folks at XDA Developers, who spotted entries of two new Teams features in the official Microsoft 365 roadmap.
If you use Teams, you must be aware of the issue related to how the Enter key works in the message composer. At present, pressing Enter immediately sends a message. While that’s not an issue, things get frustrating when you press it accidentally, sometimes with incomplete messages.
Microsoft will soon allow users to choose whether Enter creates a new line or sends the message. As of now, there are no details on the confirmed alternative keyboard shortcut for sending. However, many users feel that going with the common Ctrl + Enter combination seems feasible.
Wait, we are not done yet. Microsoft has another surprise for Teams users incoming in 2026. The feature in question is multi-message forwarding. All this while, Teams only supported single-message forwarding. But starting early 2026, users will be able to select and forward up to five messages in a single action.
According to roadmap, Microsoft plans to roll out multi-message forwarding in January 2026, followed by the Enter key customization feature in February. If you use Teams on Desktop, Mac, Linux, and the web, it’ll be available for you.
What do you think about these upcoming features? Which one are you looking forward to the most? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
