MSI MAG 272UP X24, QD-OLED On A Budget

Almost Everything You Want For Well Under $1000

MSI have made QD-OLED somewhat affordable with their MAG 272UP X24 QD-OLED display.  It is capable of 4K at 240Hz even though MSI went with DP 1.4 instead of DP 2.1 but it does have HDMI 2.1.  You also don’t get any KVM features and the USB-C DP-Alt mode output only provides 15W so you won’t be charging a laptop off of it very effectively.  Then again if you are using a laptop that can push 4K @ 240Hz you aren’t going to be powering it off of any monitor on the market.  You may also be disappointed by the lack of RGB lighting around the monitor, then again maybe that is a plus.

The other drawback KitGuru found was the colour balance out of the box, it was overly warm but as long as you delve into the OSD you can easily modify the balance to match what you want.  As the MAG 272UP X24 is for sale on Amazon at $730, it is one of the more affordable QD-OLEDs on the market and MSI really doesn’t make you compromise too much to be able to sell it at that price.
