Samsung’s next flagship phone may finally get a much-appreciated charging upgrade, going beyond the 45W limit that Samsung has stuck with for years. This comes right after Samsung quietly listed a new 60W Super Fast Charger, which we believe is a strong hint at what’s coming with its next premium phone.

Until now, Samsung’s flagship phones, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra, topped out at 45W charging. While that speed was decent, it lagged behind many competitors that already offer 65W, 80W, or even higher charging speeds. Because of this, many fans have been asking Samsung to improve charging times, especially for phones with large batteries. The launch of a 60W charger suggests that Samsung may finally be ready to make that jump with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

60W spec for Galaxy S26 Ultra has not been confirmed

Samsung has not confirmed anything about the Galaxy S26 Ultra yet, but the timing is interesting. Companies usually don’t release higher-watt chargers without a device that can take advantage of them. This makes it very possible that the S26 Ultra, expected to launch in early 2026, could be Samsung’s first flagship phone to support 60W wired charging. The phone itself, however, is not expected to offer a big battery upgrade, which already puts some doubt in our minds.

Looking at the charger itself, it is designed to work across a wide range of Samsung devices. According to the official product page, the 60W Power Adapter supports Super Fast Charging and works with Galaxy smartphones, tablets, wearables, and even Galaxy Book laptops. This makes it a single charger that can power multiple devices, which is useful for people who don’t want to carry several adapters.

Samsung has also focused on energy efficiency with this charger. It uses smart IC technology to reduce standby power use to less than 5mW when plugged in but not actively charging a device. This helps lower wasted energy and benefits long-term use. On top of that, the charger includes safety features like temperature protection, overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, and low-noise operation. These features are important, especially when dealing with higher charging speeds.
