Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide’s dimensions get compared to the Huawei Pura X Max

Samsung is rumored to be introducing its first foldable smartphone with a wider aspect ratio this year in response to the iPhone Fold coming in September. Huawei has already unveiled its entrant in this arena, the Pura X Max.

If you’ve ever wondered how the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide (or whatever it will end up being called) compares to the Pura X Max in terms of size and dimensions, here’s an image that has the answer, courtesy of a new leak by the prolific Ice Universe on X.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide dimensions leak, here it is compared to the Huawei Pura X Max

The Samsung Galaxy Wide Fold is rumored to measure 123.9 x 164.4 x 4.3 mm when unfolded, and 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8 mm when folded. Its cover display has an aspect ratio of 4.7:3 and the inner folding screen has a 4:3 aspect ratio (remember CRT monitors and TVs?).

On the other hand, the Huawei Pura X Max measures 120 x 166.5 x 5.2 mm when unfolded, and 120 x 85 x 11.2 mm when folded. Thus, the Galaxy Z Fold Wide is slightly smaller on two out of three axes. It has a slightly different aspect ratio, but not so much so that it’s not obvious that these are competing with each other, at least indirectly (since Huawei is huge in China and not in a lot of other places, while Samsung’s market share in China is a blip on the radar).

The Galaxy Z Fold Wide is expected to be unveiled in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Flip8.
