Steam Is Down Right Now, Players Fear Missing Out On Winter 2025 Sale Discounts
It’s almost Christmas, meaning everyone is chilling, playing games, and having fun with family and friends. However, if you’re into PC gaming and tried to log into your Steam account only to find you couldn’t, it isn’t just you. Steam is down for many users right now, as DownDetector shows over 13,000 user reports. So, it’s not confined to one region at the moment; players across the globe are experiencing an outage right now.
What makes this worse is that the Steam Winter 2025 Sale is live now. So, if you are planning to grab some handy discounts on your favorite games, you won’t be able to do so at the moment. According to PC Gamer, right before 2 PM ET today, the service started experiencing issues. Valve hasn’t announced any routine maintenance, so it’s hard to guess what’s actually happening right now.
In addition, the unofficial Steam Status website is displaying WebSocket errors at the time of writing. What’s worse is that the entire Steam store, Web API, and community features are reportedly offline right now. As of now, there’s no word from Valve on what exactly has happened or why the service is experiencing an outage right when players are flocking to the site to grab massive discounts and chill with their buddies during the holidays.
If there’s any update, we’ll keep you updated.
