Waze’s traffic lights feature continues to roll out to more users
Last December, we heard that Waze – a crowd-sourced GPS navigation app – started testing a feature that showed traffic lights to users. Waze – owned by Google – has continued rolling out this feature to more users in multiple countries over the past few months, and a new Reddit thread reveals that it’s still gradually rolling it out to users across different regions.
The comments under different Reddit threads about Waze’s traffic lights feature suggest it’s rolling out randomly to users, confirming the company is still testing it before beginning a wider rollout. That explains why there’s no official announcement from Waze yet.

Besides, the traffic lights feature itself isn’t anything new, as some other navigation apps – including Google Maps – have had it for a while now. So if you don’t see traffic lights on Waze even after updating to the latest version, you might want to use Google Maps or another GPS navigation app with traffic light support until then.
