Microsoft has released Build 19045.6156 (KB5062649) to Windows 10’s Release Preview Channel. The update is now available for Insiders and comes with a handful of under-the-hood improvements, including a key fix for the Extended Security Updates (ESU) wizard.
If you’ve been running into trouble with the “Enroll now” button in the ESU enrollment wizard suddenly closing on launch, this build is for you. The bug was tied to an incomplete app registration issue, but Microsoft says that’s now fixed, making the process much smoother for users extending their Windows 10 support.
The update also introduces a new tweak for Secure Boot deployment. Devices can now deploy SKUSiPolicy VBS Anti-rollback protections using a specific registry key, giving IT admins more flexibility when tightening boot security on enterprise machines.
Microsoft is also updating mobile operator profiles through the COSA system, which keeps regional mobile settings fresh for users relying on cellular connections. On top of that, this build brings general system stability improvements, particularly for devices that experienced freezing issues after the May 2025 Patch Tuesday update.
Although it’s a minor release in terms of features, this build is shaping up to be a helpful one for those still relying on Windows 10. It’s a quiet but important step toward keeping systems stable, secure, and better prepared for long-term support scenarios.
