AMD is expanding its graphics card lineup worldwide, that is. As in its Computex announcement, it has said that the RX 9070 GRE is getting a release in other countries outside of China, too. It was released last year in May, with reviews and AMD showing it to perform better in some cases than the RTX 5060 Ti.

It is a GPU for 1440p gaming to expand on Radeon’s lineup and offer more options to pick from when deciding which card to pick for your next gaming rig. Particularly with the RX 9000 series being a viable option when it comes to value, as we saw in our RX 9070 XT review.

RX 9070 GRE release date

AMD has announced the RX 9070 GRE will be available globally at retail partners from today, June 1st. Expanding the availability of the RDNA 4 card to a great range of markets and people to have an even greater selection of cards, even if Nvidia is the one with the greater market share.

RX 9070 GRE specs

The specs of the 9070 GRE put it between the RX 9070 and 9060 XT, with a bit less VRAM and lower cores. But the 12GB of VRAM, 2,3072 cores, and a clock of 2.79GHz do still give it plenty of speed and power for gaming and the capability of 1440p. Especially with FSR support and the work AMD has put into drivers.

GPU Memory Memory bus Shading units Boost clock RT cores TDP
RX 9070 GRE 12GB 192-bit 3,072 2.79GHz 48 220W
RX 9070 16GB 256-bit 3,584 2.52GHz 56 220W
RX 9060 XT 16/8GB 16/8GB 128-bit 2,048 3.13GHz 32 160W

RX 9070 GRE price

AMD has given the RX 9070 GRE a SEP of $549. Putting it below the top-level options of RDNA 4, like the RX 9070 and 9070 XT, on release. It does make for a decent value option for picking up for your new build or an upgrade. Which might be a choice depending on the actual pricing and the benchmarks it produces.
