Samsung monitors are pretty much in a league of their own when it comes to design, as they boast excellent build quality and premium finishing that make them a much sleeker option to go for than your typical gaming monitor. This monitor features a metal design, which is unique for a gaming monitor, and also has Samsung’s CoreLighting system on the back, which can be customized and synced.

QD-OLED display for lifelike picture quality

One of the big features here is this monitor’s stunning QD-OLED display, which is designed to showcase games at their very best. This particular display features a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, which means that you’re getting very deep, inky blacks and bright highlights, which makes everything look far more realistic on screen. In terms of color, it has 99% DCI-P3 color, which means that this monitor is able to reproduce a very wide color range, very accurately. This is great for gaming, and it’s also excellent for video editors.

360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time for fast-paced, super smooth gaming

It’s also the ideal size for most types of games; not too big for competitive shooters, and ot too small to lack immersion.

Things to consider

So when it comes to brightness, QD-OLED monitors can be a little on the dim side. While they can produce very high peak brightness, it is usually only in a smaller area, which is easy to get mixed up about when shortlisting. This monitor comes in at 250 nits typical, which is decent, but by no means super bright. The best way to use this monitor is in lower light environments, where it will be absolutely incredible. If you want to stick with OLED but want something brighter, look for a display with VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification instead, as these tend to be brighter. The same goes for WOLED monitors, which are a touch brighter than your typical models. My personal pick would be something like this LG UltraGear monitor for a very strong alternative.
